No Customers Yet? Don’t Draw Five Stars.

We replaced prelaunch-style proof with a truthful “first 25 customers” offer instead of implying reviews that did not exist.

Diagram contrasting fake five-star proof with an honest first 25 customers founding offer.
Early-stage proof can be specific about the moment instead of pretending the moment has passed.

Visible Light was prelaunch. We had zero customers. A row of five stars would have looked familiar—and implied a history we did not have.

So we used the truth as the offer: the first 25 customers would get founding access and help shape what came next.

The constraint created better copy

“First 25 customers” is specific. It explains why the offer exists, gives the early buyer a role, and creates urgency without manufacturing popularity.

Steal this

  1. Remove proof you cannot verify today.
  2. Name the honest advantage of being early: access, influence, price, or attention.
  3. Put a real limit on that advantage and explain why it exists.

If you do not have social proof yet, use situational proof: show that you understand exactly where the customer is joining you.
