What does “making it” mean to you? Whether it's leaving your corporate job, hitting your first $5K month, or simply enjoying the work you create, your “Made It” moment is unique and worth sharing. This wall is our community's collective celebration of those moments, big and small, that make this journey worth it.

I made it

I've never felt I "made it" as much as when I started depending on myself. This is the day I got a job and stopped asking my family for money. The fact that I can buy stuff for myself makes me feel so alive. And now I am an example to my friends and younger siblings.

When I had my daughter, I knew I made it. It changed my life in the best ways possible. After going through my miscarriage, I really believed that my life was so meaningless. So when it was us three in that room, I felt all that strife and heartache was worth it to get to that very moment. I had successfully managed to build my family.

My made it moment will be when I can fully support myself on my art. Also supporting other creatives reach their own made it moments. Until then, I gotta keep working! 🔥

The day I can actually turn down projects I don't want to do. Not having to accept every project or commission that comes my way just because I need the money, finally being able to say no and work only on things that genuinely inspire me. When I get to choose projects that motivate and inspire me, that's when I'll really feel like "I've made it".

"Honestly, I never saw myself having the life that I do! Before my partner and I got together, I didn't want to be married or have kids, and I had no actual goals besides working and making money. When we got together, I saw another life for me, so that was my first 'I made it' moment. It has changed for me each year and will continue to change."

My I made it moment will be when I'm able to work less hours. The living, I'm fine with. The money could always increase, but mostly it's the hours of work that are killing me. I'll know I made it when the bang for my buck and investing allow my money to make more money. I feel like I've done better with time, just not to where I want to be.

One day, I was riding with my coworker, hand on the steering wheel, looking out the windshield, just thinking. Builders were chasing me down to do work for them. I felt happy. I realized in that moment I could do what I was doing for the rest of my life. I loved it. I made it.

I felt I made it when I sold my first product after months of failure. I felt like if I could sell one, I could sell ten. And if I could sell ten, I could sell 100. And if I could sell 100, I could buy the freedom to do what I wanted when I wanted. The best part about it was having a partner to celebrate the win with. A moment I will never forget.

I want to achieve the kind of artistic expression that would make me involuntarily bite my lower lip. Like, park it in a vacuum of excitement, under my upper lip and in the clench of my teeth. Sensational satisfaction. Is what I want. That spiritual thing.

I made it

I don't think I've ever had an 'I made it' moment. The moment passes quickly, and it doesn't feel as transcendent as I would have imagined. I've tried to focus more on the feeling I have when I'm in the process. Instead of worrying, 'will this make me x amount of money or get published? ' Instead, I try to focus on how I feel while I'm doing it.

I'll know I made it when I have stability for my family. I want my family to be secure and be able to spend time with them. This also includes a comfortable living situation where my children can bring friends over and host family gatherings. A place to call home and grow into. I will know I have made it when I have that whole family feeling.

When I can afford to have a home and take complete care of my dog. I had to let someone else care for him while I'm in this period of my life, but I'll know I made it when I can finally take care of my dog and have a home for us both.

My "made it moment" has become my mission: Helping friends, family, and you reach your made it moment. I’ve learned that no matter how big my goal is, the moment fades fast. But seeing others hit their dream moment, their freedom, their business, their life, that never gets old. That’s why I built this wall. That’s why I’m here.
