Two “Try Weebly” Buttons Opened Squarespace

A manual audit found two high-intent Weebly buttons sending readers to the wrong product.

A polished button is still broken if the destination contradicts the words on it.

During a CAPW quality audit, I clicked two buttons labeled “Try Weebly Now.” Both opened Squarespace.

The copy, layout, and styling could all pass review while the page still failed at the exact moment a reader was ready to act.

I added a money-link pass to the workflow

Link checkers can confirm that a URL returns a page. They cannot always tell you whether the destination matches the promise. For every affiliate button, pricing link, signup CTA, and quiz result, I now verify the rendered page and the final destination together.

Steal this

  1. List every link tied to revenue or lead capture.
  2. Click each one from the live rendered page.
  3. Read the button and destination aloud as one sentence: “Try Weebly opens Weebly.”

The closer a link is to money, the less I trust a visual inspection.
