The Query Decides How Hard I Can Sell
CAPW’s guides lead the reader; comparison pages earn the recommendation with honest tradeoffs.

Create a Pro Website makes money when someone chooses hosting. So the temptation is obvious: mention hosting early and often.
That is also how affiliate content starts sounding like affiliate content.
I use two different rules
Guide query: I can lead. Choose the platform, explain why WordPress fits, then introduce hosting when it becomes necessary.
Comparison query: I have to earn it. Show the real alternatives, explain ownership, flexibility, cost, and lock-in, then make the recommendation.
We also separate guide intent from comparison intent so two pages do not fight over the same search.
Steal this
- Write the query at the top of the brief.
- Label it guide, comparison, or review.
- Choose the CTA only after the page has completed that job.
The commission does not decide the structure. The reader’s question does.
