Selling on Marketplace Platforms
I took an unplanned month or break from the podcast due to personal reasons but also because I’ve been working my a$$ off with our latest round of course updates.
Six-Figure Course Creator is getting some major updates and in honor of those updates, I wanted to share some brand new content that will be featured in the updates.
When you sell products online, you generally have two different business models to choose from.
- You can sell the products on your own on a platform like Teachable, Clickfunnels, or Kajabi (or any other online learning platform).
- OR, you can sell them on a marketplace platform like Amazon, Etsy, Skillshare, or Udemy.
Both are great options with the potential to earn tens of thousands of dollars every month.
In the past, we’ve pushed students towards selling products on their own because that’s how we’ve been able to find crazy heights of success.
It gives you more flexibility and control over your product prices and marketing, the design of your sales pages, and even the structure and delivery of your content.
When you sell on marketplace platforms, you have to lower your prices drastically in order to stay competitive and you’re at the mercy of yet another algorithm.
But that being said, you can still make GREAT money on marketplace platforms and they do work great for some people.
In today’s episode, I’ll dive a little deeper into the pros and cons of selling on marketplace platforms and even share some insight into how my brother makes over $20,000/month selling courses on Udemy and Skillshare.
